What Can I Do with a Degree in International Studies?

The International Studies major will help you cultivate a set of skills that are necessary for many career options. International Studies students can work in government, business, education, or for non-profit organizations, etc. The skills International Studies students should strive to cultivate are:

  • speaking, reading, and writing proficiency
  • critical thinking and problem solving
  • understanding of other cultures, global history, politics, and current events
  • speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in at least one foreign language
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • cultural sensitivity
  • leadership and decision-making skills
  • curiosity and creativity
