What Can I Do with a Degree in International Studies?
The International Studies major will help you cultivate a set of skills that are necessary for many career options. International Studies students can work in government, business, education, or for non-profit organizations, etc. The skills International Studies students should strive to cultivate are:
- speaking, reading, and writing proficiency
- critical thinking and problem solving
- understanding of other cultures, global history, politics, and current events
- speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in at least one foreign language
- strong interpersonal skills
- cultural sensitivity
- leadership and decision-making skills
- curiosity and creativity
